Access to Work is a scheme designed to help people who have a disability, physical or mental health condition to stay in employment by providing funding to employers to help with adjustments.

In August, the government announced the decision to extend the Access To Work scheme and provide funding for disabled individuals working from home due to Covid 19.

The Access to Work grant can offer funding of up to £60,000 to help pay for, for example, specialised equipment, travel costs or training, to give employees the individualised support they need, whether working from home or the workplace.

Applying for funding is easy. The employee can apply either online at www.gov.uk/access-to-work or over the phone on 0800 121 7479.

Access to Work will talk to the employee and carry out a short Workplace Needs Assessment to understand the employee’s specific situation and needs, and then provide a report with recommendations for adjustments and support. The employee shares this with their employer who then implements the recommended adjustments as they deem reasonable, and claim any eligible costs back from the scheme.

Once a report is received, we at Iansyst can help fulfil any or all of the adjustments recommended, as well as providing expert advice and support, all from one place. Having all the equipment, support and help from one supplier can significantly reduce your organisation’s costs and time in the implementation of adjustments.

Iansyst are experts in a number of disabilities, and have over 30 years experience of working with organisations, providing and helping to implement all sorts of adjustments.
